Our chef has worked in the hotels, pubs and restaurants of the Norfolk area for over 15 years. Throughout this time he has developed an impressive understanding of the area and knows just what fantastic local produce it has to offer. His second chef studied at Norwich city catering school and has also worked in pubs in this area for the last 4 years making him more than qualified to assist in sourcing local produce for the kicthen.

MEAT
We are proud to say that both ourselves and our butcher, PJ ROOFE of Norwich are members of EBLEX, the ENGLISH BEEF AND LAMB EXECUTIVE. With over 28 years in the trade, PJ ROOFE of Norwich provide very high standard, quality meat, 95% of which is sourced from Norfolk farms. They also make their own sausages which we believe are first class.

HAM & EGG
One of our best selling dishes. OUR EGGS are free range, come from Coltishall and are LION stamped. We also boil and roast our own HAM.

STEAK AND ALE PIE
Our famous homemade pie is made using chunks of steak cooked in Adnams ale and finished off with a tasty short crust pastry top and bottom!!!

SUNDAY ROASTS
We serve a Sunday roast every Sunday lunch time from 12pm - 3pm. Our meat comes from our butcher, please ring to check which roasts we are serving, usually beef, pork and turkey. We pride ourselves on serving a traditional roast with homemade Yorkshire puddings, sage and onion stuffing, chipolata sausages, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and homemade REAL gravy!!!!!

FISH
Our fresh fish comes from Lowestoft Shellfish Company, not quite within the Norfolk border but it is very close. (When in season we do buy crabs from Cromer!!) Please ring to check out our specials (these change from week to week)

FRUIT AND VEG
All our fruit and veg comes from MEALES which is based a few miles up the road from Scottow. They grow an impressive range of local produce, however we are still trying to find a Norfolk banana grower!! Meales is a well-established family run business with an excellent farm shop and P.Y.O centre based at Wayford (between Wayford bridge and Stalham)

LASAGNE
We make our own lasagne from an old Italian family recipe using the best steak mince and a good red wine!!! We usually have a Lasagne on the special board using ingredients that are in season e.g. Chicken and asparagus, Chicken and Broccoli, prawn and salmon, the list goes on.

SPECIAL BOARDS
We have an ever-changing special board please ring to find out the current meals available. We ensure there is always a varied selection of dishes on offer including fresh fish, vegetarian, chicken, seasonal foods etc....

ICE CREAM
We believe this is a very important subject (well our chef thinks so!!)
All our ice cream comes from PARRAVANI'S in Norwich. The name may not suggest an entirely traditional local source for our icecream however the family have been in Norfolk for over 110 years first setting up in Ber Street Norwich in 1898. (Ber Street was the Italian area in Norwich with over 28 pubs in one road!!!!)

WINE
WEAVERS WAY WINE, based in the Blilking hall estate, kindly designed our wine list. To sample some of the fantastic wines on offer for ourselves we attended a tasting day with the award winning wine and food matcher KIETH REAVES (it was one of the hardest jobs drinking wine for a whole day!!!!) but we were fully satified that our wine list is one of the highest standard!
